Welcome to Port Chalmers Yacht Club

Welcome to Dunedin’s longest established yacht club.  We have a very active sailing membership and racing programme along with a proud history of producing national champions across a variety of classes.

We welcome anyone who has an interest in sailing whether it is learning to sail, crewing or sailing your own boat.  Our clubhouse is a family-friendly and social space to relax after a day on the water.

Reminder: Working Bee tomorrow

With the start of the season not far away, it's time to have a bit of a cleanup around the Club.
There will be a working bee on Saturday 19th September from 9am.
The main focus at this stage are the Elliot 5.9's and cleaning up the outside of the Clubhouse along with a general tidy up around the compound and sheds.
As usual, we really appreciate any time that anyone can spare.

Hi all

There has been much uncertainty around the limitations that COVID might present for the AC. As you can appreciate things are changing daily, however to create some certainty, under current advice the AC organising committee is committed to running the Saturday racing and Sunday AC this year based on the following.

At Level 1 the event will go ahead as normal.
At Level 2 there will be no shore based activities of facilities provided. Access to the lake and camping facilities will be in line with local council recommendations and requirements. We would also remind all that in an effort to create social distancing that there are many access point to the lake including Parsons Rock and Waitangi and competitors should consider these alternatives. On the water will operate under YNZ Level 2 guidelines, essentially sailing as normal with online briefing and sign on. Details to follow in the Sailing Instructions should we be in Level 2.
At Level 3 the event will not proceed.

As I’m sure you will all appreciate this may change, but for now start planning and we look forward to seeing you all on the water.
