Welcome to Port Chalmers Yacht Club

Welcome to Dunedin’s longest established yacht club.  We have a very active sailing membership and racing programme along with a proud history of producing national champions across a variety of classes.

We welcome anyone who has an interest in sailing whether it is learning to sail, crewing or sailing your own boat.  Our clubhouse is a family-friendly and social space to relax after a day on the water.

Hopefully not too much longer until we can get back out on the water, but in the meantime for those suffering withdrawal symptoms here’s a chance to participate in a series of events throughout May to find NZ’s top eSailor.
If there’s interest from our members we’ll host our own Virtual Regatta club champ’s with the winner proceeding to the next stage of the challenge. Further details in the link from Grass Roots Sailing NZ

New Zealand moved into alert level 3 today. Sailing and boating is still not allowed but windsurfing is OK if it is done safely within 200m of shore.

Due to the rapidly changing situation around Covid-19, it is with regret that Port Chalmers Yacht Club is cancelling all Club sailing events for the remainder of the season.

This includes but is not limited to:

This weekend’s Anniversary Regatta

All Learn to Sail and Coaching activities

Ladies Skippers and Forward Hands Race

The Old Salts Race, Rosebowl Trophy Race and Closing Day

As a small club we do not have the resources to be constantly cleaning public surfaces so we ask that you please limit the use of clubhouse (including toilets and showers).

This decision was not made lightly, however Port Chalmers Yacht Club is serious about the health and well-being of our members and our Community.

On behalf of the Committee, we wish for you all to stay safe and well.
