Welcome to Port Chalmers Yacht Club
Welcome to Dunedin’s longest established yacht club. We have a very active sailing membership and racing programme along with a proud history of producing national champions across a variety of classes.
We welcome anyone who has an interest in sailing whether it is learning to sail, crewing or sailing your own boat. Our clubhouse is a family-friendly and social space to relax after a day on the water.

This weekend is our first race out to the Landfall Tower for the season.
Saturday 3rd October, Landfall Tower Race.
Open to Keelers and Trailer Yachts.
Club Start line shore start between white pole on the point and pile 32.
Course: Club Start Line to Landfall Tower to Port to Club Start Line Shore Finish
Warning Signal 13.27hrs. Low Water Taiaroa Heads 15:38hrs (0.5m).
Note that all yachts entered in this race must carry a working VHF radio switched on and tuned to Channel 62. This is not only for your safety but for the receiving of course changes and other relevant race information. All competitors are reminded of their obligations regarding use of the channel when ships are transiting. Keep Clear at all times!

So good to be back out in the water! Thanks to our new Commodore, Will for opening the season and welcoming everyone with his vision for the Club. It was great to get 3 very close races away. Congratulations to Gwynn on Red Pepper for taking out the Potter Cup and Liam Heseltine in a Sunburst winning the Junior Potter Cup. Next week, we have our first race to the Landfall Tower.

This Saturday marks the start of the 135th Sailing Season at PCYC.
Big thanks to all those who helped get the Club ready for the season at the Working Bee on Saturday. We really appreciate you giving up your Saturday morning!
We would like to invite you all to a Pre-Season Get-together at the Clubhouse 6.30pm Friday 25th September....BYO fish and chips and stay for a catch up.
Saturday 26th September
We will be opening the season with an opening ceremony starting at 11.30am followed by a briefing at 12.30pm. Members, please bring a plate for lunch.
Opening Day races - Junior and Senior Potter Cups Race.
HWPC 15.04hrs. 2.1m. Warning Signal 13.27hrs.
Three races are scheduled. Note the first race counts for the Potter Cups.
