Club Trophies
Being the oldest yacht club on the Otago Harbour, Port Chalmers Yacht Club has amassed some beautiful trophies over the years.
The Port Chalmers Regatta Committee – formed in 1862, ensured trophies and prizes were on offer at these auspicious annual events. In those times a trophy was duly won and kept for eternity by the fortunate Skipper or Boat. Some of these Cups have found their way back to the club by being donated by the families involved. These trophies have been re-allocated to a class of boat or particular race or series and along with Memorial Cups ( in remembrance of a particular sailor or club Stalwart) and sponsored trophies, we now have a varied and much sought-after array.
These are all on offer to those who choose to sail in the very full racing calendar that P.C.Y.C. offers annually. Here are some of the trophies on offer.
